The Creek Cares Compassion Fund is a new program of the Deer Creek Schools Foundation that will serve as a resource for the Deer Creek School District, offering support to students, teachers, families and staff facing unexpected hardships. This fund is designed to provide assistance in times of crisis, emergencies, natural disasters, financial instability, or just sudden hardships. Contributions to this fund directly impact the well-being of the district, fostering a caring and resilient environment where everyone can thrive despite life's challenges.

Why Creek Cares?

More than 140 students are utilizing the backpack food program, which allows students to receive food items each Friday, and 24% of the Deer Creek School District is Title 1.  There are currently 10 families who are experiencing homelessness in the district, and

that number is expected to double this year.  We also have teachers and staff in the district who are in need of help and receiving assistance.  This winter, one of our teachers wore a robe to work the carpool line because she was saving up money to purchase a coat. Fortunately, school staff became aware of the situation and through the district Comfort Closet, they were able to provide a coat. 

Due to these growing needs and numbers, the Deer Creek Schools Foundation has realized the need to support the district by creating the Creek Cares Compassion Fund.  It will also respond to those in the school district who have experienced an emergency (such as house fire) or disaster.
